When It's Time to Move...
Jan 08, 2025Hi friends! This week on The Free Advantage, I’m sharing a deeply personal story about transitions—the kind that shakes everything up and challenges us to trust the path ahead.
As I prepare to say goodbye to Florida and move unexpectedly back to Texas, I’m reflecting on what this chapter means for me. It’s a journey of letting go, embracing new opportunities, and finding freedom in the unknown. If you’ve ever faced a big decision or life change, this episode is for you.
Quote of the Day:
"Just because we love something doesn’t mean we’re meant to hold onto it forever. Freedom and alignment aren’t about staying in what’s comfortable—they’re about trusting the path ahead, even when it feels uncertain." ~Heather DVIS
My Personal Story:
Back in 2017, Sean and I visited Florida for the first time, and I fell in love with everything about it—the sunsets, the ocean air, the people. It felt like a dream come true when we finally moved here in 2022.
Now, as we prepare for an unplanned move back to Texas, a place I thought I’d left behind for good, I’m facing all kinds of emotions. I’m sad to leave Florida, but I’ve learned that just because we love something doesn’t mean we’re meant to hold onto it forever.
What to Know:
- Recognizing When It’s Time to Move: Understand when a chapter in life is closing and a new one is beginning. Don't hold on too tight.
- Letting Go of What You Love: Acknowledging that growth often means stepping out of your comfort zone.
- Trusting God’s Timing: Learning to embrace change, even when it feels unexpected or uncertain.
Reflection: Taking Inventory:
- Growth: recognize and acknowledge all of the ways you have grown in this last phase of life.
- Challenges: what challenges have you faced, and what did you learn and overcome?
- Beauty: what beauty can you find in the chapter that is closing? What beauty can you carry forward with you?
Key Takeaways:
- Every ending is the beginning of something new.
- Freedom and alignment often require stepping into the unknown.
- Trust the process, even when it feels scary or unexpected.
- Let go of what you love with gratitude, knowing it’s part of your journey.
Final Thoughts:
Transitions aren’t easy, but they’re often where we find our greatest growth. As I prepare to step into this next chapter, I want to encourage you to trust the path ahead. Even when it feels scary or uncertain, you’re capable of moving forward and embracing what’s next.
